Can I try out a lesson?
You can try out lessons with a single class payment. Individual lessons are paid in advance to the Helsinki Dance Institute’s account FI15 1016 3000 7030 60 (BIC: NDEAFIHH). In the message field, write “Single lesson”, the date the lesson will be held, and the name of the discipline or lesson number. The payment receipt will be given to the teacher when you arrive at the lesson.

How do I know where my lesson will be held and whether I need a door code for the studio?
The studio abbreviation for the lesson is under the Place heading in the class schedule. Explanations of studio abbreviations can be found on the Locations page. You can find the KAMP, LEI and KÄP door codes on your invoice, or you can ask for them at the student office. On your first visit, please allow time to find the location and find the changing room and the right studio. You can ask the teacher for additional instructions on equipment during your first lesson.

Can personal absences be made up with other lessons?
Yes, you can! Absences do not need to be reported. The student keeps a record of the absences themselves. When going to a make-up lesson, the student must fill out a make-up lesson slip, which can be found in the studios and online, and give it to the teacher. The right to a make-up lesson is valid for two months from the absence.

If you have accumulated a lot of absences, can you cancel all your lessons for a period of time and take lessons with make-up lesson slips?
If a student has canceled all their lessons, they do not have the right to take make-up lessons. Students must be registered for at least one lesson per week in order to be able to take make-up lessons.

Do you have to pay the bill even if I haven’t been able to attend the lessons?
Yes, you do, as long as the lesson has not been cancelled in accordance with our cancellation policy. Cancellations must always be made in writing directly to the student office at least 14 days before the start of each period. Notifying the teacher or missing lessons does not constitute a cancellation.
